  • About

Primula veris This is found on roadsides, hills and pastures, especially on calcareous soils, and it flowers from April to June. In the past, cowslip wine was a great favourite in country districts but I feel that of all the wild flower wines this is the one that I am most opposed to making because there has been a serious decline in the cowslip population during this century. Recently, they do seem to be on the increase again but this wine requires such a large quantity of flowers that I feel it is best to avoid making it if possible.
