Almost all people, whether they are potential or actual grandparents, have practiced certain forms of economy in their day, even if they are not like my own grandmother who practiced it her whole life. Sometimes their systems have a strange sound indeed, after the thin days are past and they can look back with a perspective that is impossible while the wolf seems actually at the door.
