Tomato soup with canned milk

These three meals, to be prepared for such a large number of people, most of whom are supposed to be children, would be heated on “a barbecue or make-shift inside camp cooking equipment,” the folder says!
Aside from the obvious fact that few people eat three hot meals a day, even in peacetime (“Warm foods are not the only ‘warming foods.’ ... Get out of the habit of cooking a hot meal every day,” the British Ministry of Food urges in one of its regular newspaper bulletins.), it is foolish to think of the number of plates and cups and utensils that would have to be washed to provide for these impractical and nauseating feasts.
