Restaurant Critic, Food Writer and Broadcaster
This collection is every bit as rich and resounding as the great actor's famous baritone. Travelling around the world with his wife on endless film shoots, he visits all the great restaurants of the 60 (Sardi's, Harry's Bar, The Four Seasons etc) and includes their finest recipes. Plus hotdogs from Dodger Stadium. He's one hell of a cook, the photographs are drenched in lurid 60s colour and the book is clad in a wipe clean, faux leather binding. Magnificent.
You not only have the recipes that they loved but you get a travel log along with them. Vincent was a very accomplished cook and grew up around food and cooking. His Grandfather formed the Price Baking Powder Co in the late 1800's and he later sold it to Royal Baking Powder Co in 1915.
I'm probably never going to cook from this, because the thing is massive and the recipes are seriously old school, but I was so happy when this was re-issued and I finally got to own a copy.
Unique approachable fare sharing a fusion of Malta cuisine with German traditional flavors.
