CHICKPEAS, ALSO KNOWN AS GARBANZO BEANS, ARE EXCELLENT FOR WEIGHT LOSS DIETS OWING TO THEIR HIGH FIBRE CONTENT AND LOW GI. THEY ARE ALSO A MAJOR INGREDIENT IN MANY MIDDLE EASTERN DISHES, SUCH AS HUMMUS, FALAFELS AND CURRIES. SIMPLY ROASTED WITH SOME SPICES, THEY MAKE THE PERFECT SNACK.

Ingredients

  • 1 × 410 g can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • ¼

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Pat the chickpeas dry and drizzle the olive oil over them.
  3. Mix together the cayenne pepper, paprika and salt.
  4. Add the spice mixture to the oiled chickpeas, coating them well. Spread out on a baking tray.</
