Ingredients

For the Shortcrust Pastry

  • 250 g (9 oz) plain flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 1 teaspoon

Method

For the pastry, sift the flour and salt into a bowl. Add 1 egg yolk and the butter and work to form a rough dough. If using a food mixer, use the beater at slow speed until the ingredients are just amalgamated. Add 4 tablespoons of cold water and knead gently to make a smooth dough. Roll into a ball
