  • 450 g (1 lb) French beans
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Method

Cook the French beans in boiling salted water until just tender but still slightly crisp, then drain well.

Heat both the oils in a frying pan, add the cumin, mustard seeds, cardamom and turmeric and stir for a few seconds. Add the yoghurt and garlic and simmer for 1-2 minutes, then add the French beans and garam masala. Toss together, adjust the seasoning and cook until the beans are co
