  • 3.5 kg (7 lb) green tomatoes, deseeded and cut into quarters
  • 1 onion, finely chopped


An ideal recipe for using up all those green tomatoes left at the end of the season. This chutney is delicious served with cold meat or with Spinach, Chilli and Black Bean Fritters.

Place all the ingredients in a preserving pan and heat until the sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour or until thickened and syr
