Blood orange gives this cocktail an even deeper red color and a raspberry-like sweetness. But you can take your pick between blood orange or lime, depending on your flavor preferences or what is available. If you’ve already got the grill going and want to be extra, you can briefly char the citrus halves, for about 15 to 30 seconds, before juicing them. This gets the juices going and makes it easier to squeeze. Plus, it adds a layer of smoky goodness, but it’s not at all necessary.
