Sangrita

Sangrita is the original tequila chaser, and it tastes great while sipping on mezcal as well, especially the ones that are a little higher proof and let their agave qualities be known as they are going down the hatch. Making sangrita from scratch is a lost art but actually not that hard. It keeps for a while and adds an elegant and traditional vibe when drinking liquor straight.
