  • About

Fruit plates are a popular dessert throughout Asia. Here, the standard is spiced up with a salty-spicy-sweet dip. You can really use any fruits here-choose whatever is in season. The ones listed here are simply suggestions.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup raw sugar, such as Muscovado
  • ½ fresh red finger chile or 2 f

Method

  1. Mix the raw sugar, chile, and lime zest in a mixing bowl. Stir in the fleur de sel and granulated sugar. This mixture will keep in an airtight container for up to 2 days, but will lose its aroma over time.
  2. Serve the mixture in individual dipping dishes accompanied by the fruit. Instruct your guests to dip the fruit in the mixture and enjoy.
