People in Warracknabeal turned a little feisty when changes to state government legislation about five years ago meant the local shire council could no longer grant a public holiday for their mid-week show.
Concerned that it could see the end of a tradition that has been part of the Victorian farming community’s annual calendar for almost 130 years, they made their feelings known and a few years later the legislation was amended.
