These roses are very quick and easy and there’s no sewing. I used realistic colours but yours can be in crazy shades, if you prefer. They can, of course, be made months ahead.
Colour the sugarpaste the day before, if possible. I made a clotted cream tone, using the 2 shades listed here.
Warm the jam gently in a pan, sieve it and brush all over the cake. Dust a clean work surface with icing sugar and roll out the sugarpaste into a circle roughly as big as the diameter and sides of the cake, and no thinner than 5mm. Keep
