My most memorable salsa verde is a recipe that my brother-in-law’s mom made for his birthday one year. The ingredients were simple: “Jalapeños, garlic, water, and salt,” she told me. I think she left out an ingredient or two, because I tried making it and there was a lot more to it than that. So, I’ve worked on my version of that salsa verde over the last five years.
