The best substitute for papaya here, believe it or not, is watermelon. Cantaloupe isn’t bad either. Serve this with any grilled meat, poultry, or fish.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups papaya in ½-inch chunks
  • ½ cup minced red onion</

Method

  1. Combine all the ingredients. Let sit for about 5 minutes, then taste and adjust the seasoning.
  2. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to a couple of hours. (Bring back to room temperature before serving.)
