Simple butter-sugar cookie, baked into fluted circles or precious heart shapes and finished off with a pure raspberry jam filling. Dust with confectioners’ sugar or dip in melted semi-sweet or white chocolate. These are magical.
In a mixer bowl, cream the butter with the sugar. Add egg and yolk, then vanilla, almond extract and cream. Fold in flour, ground nuts, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, baking powder and salt. You should have a soft but firm dough. Pat dough into two discs and chill at least an hour or more.
