Sugar Syrup

• 1 kg (2 lb 4 oz) white sugar

Put the sugar and glucose with 1 litre (35 fl oz) water in a saucepan and stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves – make sure the sugar has dissolved before the water comes to the boil.
