I’m not the outdoors type—mountains and lakes are nice, but I prefer the streets of New York City. Even so, my instinct tells me that this is the ideal tart for a picnic: It’s easy and quick to make, and it’s sturdy, so it travels well.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup plus 2 tablespoons

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine the sugar and cream in a small saucepan and heat over medium heat, stirring gently, until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from the heat and let cool for 10 minutes.
  3. Combine the blueberries and coconut in a m
