  • About

The sweetness of the banana complements chicken. In Brazil, however, cooks also serve these bananas as an accompaniment to fish.

For this recipe, use ripe but firm small bananas, such as manica, or finger, or apple bananas. If using larger bananas, cut them on the diagonal into 1-inch-thick slices.

Ingredients

  • 6 small bananas, peeled
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 cup fine bread crumbs

Method

In a mixing bowl, gently toss the bananas with the egg to moisten, then lightly roll the bananas in the bread crumbs.

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

When the foam subsides, add the bananas and fry on all sides until golden. Season with salt and serve hot.
