Waffles, made from a light sweetened batter, have a honeycombed surface ideal for holding large quantities of sweet runny syrup or honey for those with a particularly sweet tooth.

Ingredients

  • 250 g (8 oz) plain flour
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar

Method

  1. Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into a large bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine the milk, melted butter and eggs. Gradually add to the flour mixture and mix until well combined.
