You can’t beat a good crab sandwich. I’ve had some pretty appalling ones in the past, so now I won’t order one unless I know the establishment. I suppose I was spoilt in my childhood - crab straight off the boat, into the pot, into a sandwich and eaten within 24 hours.
For a good crab sandwich, you need very fresh crab - and plenty of white claw meat in particular. Good wholemeal bread and homemade mayonnaise are also essential. I’ve known breadcrumbs to be mixed into the brown meat
