My single silver sorrel plant, which I introduced into my salad patch a couple of years ago, has gone mad, spreading and re-rooting itself quicker than I can eat it. Perhaps it’s just as well, as it has become one of my favourite salad leaves. A small, almost heart-shaped, robust leaf, it has a unique tangy flavour. If you can’t find cobnuts, which are really particular to Kent, then use walnuts or hazelnuts instead.
