If possible cook forerib on the bone as this helps to make it really full of flavour and juice. It is delicious for any lunchtime family feast; everybody appreciates a really good piece of roast beef.
Preheat the oven to 220°C, 425°F, Gas Mark 7. Put the beef in a roasting tin, fat-side upwards and coat it all over with butter or dripping. Pour on the oil and put the meat in the oven.
