Method

Put the flour in a large bowl and warm it gently either on a warm grill or in a very low oven. Mix the yeast with about 150 ml (½ pint) of warm water, and stir in a teaspoon of sugar. Leave in a warm place to froth up. Mix remaining sugar, salt and melted butter into the rest of the water.

When the yeast is frothy pour it into the middle of the slightly warm flour. Add the remaining liq
