Method

Preheat the oven to 190°C, 375°F, Gas Mark 5 and grease 2 18-cm (7-in) sandwich tins, then line them with a disc of greaseproof paper, greased and floured.

Put the ingredients into a bowl, in the order given, sifting the sugar and cocoa together, adding the melted butter and eg
