Method

Preparing the Girdle

Heat the girdle and grease.

Mixing

Sift the dry ingredients, except the oatmeal, together. Mix in the oatmeal and rub in the butter. Make a well in the centre, add the milk and mix to a fairly soft dough. Dust with flour.
