Basic Muesli Recipe


  • 8 g [1 level tablespoon ] oats
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk 200 g (7 oz) apple
  • 1 tablespoon grated hazelnuts or almonds


Soak the oats for 12 hours in the water, lemon juice and condensed milk. Wash the apples and dry well with a clean towel. Remove the stalks, but leave the skins and cores. Grate directly into the mixture with a coarse grater (the apple must not be reduced to a mush). Stir continuously to prevent the apple going brown. Sprinkle the nuts on top just before serving.
