Ingredients

  • ½ lb Flour
  • 3 oz Brown Sugar
  • 4 oz

Method

  1. Cream margarine and sugar, then add flour and eggs alternately.
  2. Add spices then syrup melted in water.
  3. Dissolve soda in milk and add.
  4. Bake in greased sandwich tins in hot then moderate oven 20–30 minutes.
  5. Cool on a wire tray.
  6. Fill with butter icing.
  7. If liked the mixture may be baked in greased cake tin or patty
