Ingredients

  • 1 kg apples, peeled and cored
  • 50 g light soft brown sugar
  • ½

Method

Add all the ingredients (including the vanilla pod) to a heavy-bottomed pan with 50ml water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring from time to time. Add a little more water if desired to prevent it thickening too much. Allow to cool before removing the vanilla pod and the cinnamon stick and refrigerating. This will keep in the fridge for up to a week.
