An attractive scone with a crumbly texture and delicate nutty flavour. Serve the scones warm with bramble jelly and clotted cream.


  • 175 g / 6 oz self-raising white flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder


Sift the white flour, baking powder, ground ginger and salt into a mixing bowl. Stir in the wholemeal flour, cut and rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs, then mix in the rolled oats. Blend the honey with the egg mixture and pour on to the dry ingredients. Mix together to make a soft sticky dough.
