These spiced and fruited scones are rolled out and cut before baking on the griddle. Serve them warm with jam or honey.

Ingredients

  • 230 g / 8 oz self-raising flour
  • ½ tsp salt

Method

Sift the flour and salt into a mixing bowl. Stir in the nutmeg and sugar, cut the butter into the mixture in small pieces and mix in the raisins with the egg to make a soft dough.
