Plain flapjack – just butter, oats, syrup and sugar – has a definite appeal, but my enriched fruit, nut and seed version appears rather more popular.

Ingredients

  • 175 g / 6 oz demerara sugar
  • 2 rounded tbs golden syrup

Method

Measure the sugar, syrup and butter into a saucepan and heat gently until the butter has melted then remove from the heat. Spoon 60 g / 2 oz of the rolled oats into a food processor and grind for abo
