This is a simple and effective celebration cake made in the shape of the initial letter of a name or the significant number to mark a birthday or anniversary. I bake the chocolate sponge cake in a large roasting tray and use a small serrated knife to cut out the shape. The cake cuttings can be used in other recipes such as the Chocolate Dreams or in a baked pudding.
