If good coffee is a passion in Mexico, chocolate is an obsession. If you don’t have coffee in the morning, you will certainly have hot chocolate. For breakfast, Mexican hot chocolate is made with the local grainy chocolate that is flavored with sugar, cinnamon, and almonds and blended with hot whole milk.
This is my fancy version of the drink, and I think it’s also a sophisticated way to finish dinner, especially if you stir a couple tablespoons of brandy into the cup.
