Method

Peel the guavas or mango, but leave skin on otaheite, cut in half, remove seeds and discard them. Mix the water and sugar in a saucepan and add the fruit. Cook for about 10 minutes. Remove the fruit, set aside and allow liquid to boil until it reduces to
