  • 1 lb. black beans
  • 1 cup sofrito
  • ½

Method

Wash the beans thoroughly, drain and put into a large saucepan with the sofrito, cumin, and enough water to cover by about 2 inches. Bring to the boil, lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 2 to 3 hours, or until the beans are very tender. If necessary add a little hot water from time to time.
