  • 2 cups long-grain rice
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 6 cups


Wash the rice thoroughly in several waters. Drain. Put the 6 cups of water on to boil with the salt and when it comes to a rolling boil pour in the rice. Cook, uncovered, at a vigorous simmer for 15 minutes. Drain, rinse quickly under cold running water and return to the saucepan. Do not add any water.
