‘I know I shouldn’t, but maybe, just this once. . .’ A line that echoes round the dining room at Dartmouth whenever we have this Steamed Marmalade Roll, or the Sticky Toffee Pudding that follows, on the menu. And the worse the weather, the more it’s heard. On really horrible damp and cold winter Sundays I can guarantee that there will be no steamed puds left by the time the restaurant empties.
