Sweet, warm and spicy, glögg (pronounced ‘glue-gh’) is Sweden’s seasonal mulled wine gift to chilly souls around the globe. I really enjoy it over the Christmas holidays, and it brings back many happy memories.
Mix all the ingredients (except for the red wine) in a bowl. Leave to sit and infuse overnight.
The next day, pour the contents of the bowl into a saucepan with the red wine and gently heat before serving. If you are short of time, just simmer all the ingredients on a low heat to infuse and then add the red wine to heat up at the end.
