  1. Put the flour, butter and salt in the bowl of a freestanding electric mixer and attach the paddle. Turn the machine onto low speed and mix until the texture becomes sandy and the butter is fully incorporated into the dough. Add the egg and water and continue to mix thoroughly to form a dough.
