I grew up eating eggy bread, or French toast as it’s also known, for breakfast sometimes. I rarely had the sweet version with bacon and maple syrup, instead opting for white bread dunked into a simple egg mixture with salt and pepper, then frying it. I would then have a dollop of good old-fashioned tomato ketchup to accompany it. This version has been pimped up with a spicy kick and is hugely popular in India as well as at my house.
