  • 1 lb. fresh French beans

Method

Peel and crush the garlic. Wash the beans and snap them into 2-inch sections. Sauté garlic in oil for a few minutes. Add the beans and stir them quickly to coat them with oil. After 1 or 2 minutes add soy sauce and sugar. Continue to stir the beans for 2 minutes longer, then add sherry. Reduce the heat. Cook the beans, uncovered, for about another 10 minutes, until they are wilted, stirring occ
