Prepare the stock: Place the prawns in a 2-pint (4-cup) heatproof measuring cup together with sesame oil and 2 level teaspoons sugar. Fill the cup to the 24 fluid oz. (3-cup) mark with boiling water, and let it stand for 10 minutes. Drain the prawns well, discarding the liquid. This treatment removes the fishy and salty taste of the dried prawns.
