A tried-and-true American winner: chocolate chiffon floating on a crunchy crust.


For the crust

  • 150 g (5 oz) digestive biscuits

Oven temperature Gas Mark 4/180°C/350°F

Preheat the oven. For the crust: crush the biscuits in a blender or processor until smooth. Add the nuts and butter and blend. Turn into a 23 cm (9-inch) flan dish and press the crumbs evenly over the bottom and sides of the plate.
