Black and white magic - well, not quite black! This is a chocolatey version of the traditional Baked Alaska and is made with a flourless chocolate sponge, which is wrapped around a very intense bitter chocolate ice cream and a bittersweet caramel ice cream, sandwiched together and enveloped in French meringue. This insulates the ice creams to keep them frozen as the meringue cooks and caramelises in its short life in the oven. A yummy optional addition is black cherries and kirsch.
