This is a dense, rich-tasting version of the famous pie which originated from the banks of the Mississippi. The pie is the colour and texture of Mississippi mud.

Method

To make the base

Butter a 20 cm (8 in) loose bottomed cake tin. Mix the biscuits with the melted butter. Fill the cake tin with the biscuits and press over the bottom
