The ladies of the Women’s Institute, whom I mentioned earlier, clearly never intended this name for their recipe, but my French tasting panel thought the result looked so like a salami-type sausage that the name stuck.
Melt the chocolate and butter in a microwave oven or bain-marie. Add all the remaining ingredients and stir well.
Chill briefly in a refrigerator. When the mixture has cooled sufficiently not to stick to the hands, roll it into a sausage shape.
Chill for at least 6-7 hours.
Coat in the icing sugar and cut into slices.
