Third-month-of-the-year cake

An English friend sent me the recipe for this rather spectacular cake with its two different layers cooked at the same time. I have added some chocolate bar pieces to add a little texture. Say nothing and see if your guests recognise this fun ingredient, which children just love. The only electric appliance you will need is your electric mixer.
