A kadhi (not to be confused with kari/curry) is a delicately seasoned yogurt-and-chickpea soup or stew, prepared differently in various parts of India. A highly nutritious, protein-rich creation, this nourishing dish is at the heart of a good vegetarian meal. This version, from the highland state of Himachal, is simple and comforting. I have added in garlic chives for a nice, nuanced hint of flavor.
