This recipe is an adaptation of the shredded chicken usually found in roadside shops called dhabas all across North India. Aside from the spicing, there is a difference in the texture when compared to Western-style pulled chicken dishes as the chicken in Chicken Bhartha is chunkier. It is usually served with lentils, flatbreads, and fresh cucumber salad. This dish, however, makes for a great Indian version of a pulled chicken sandwich.
